Indonesian Language for Non-Native Speakers (BIPA) Program

  1. Indonesian Cultural Immersion Program (ICIP) This program offers a short-term [2 weeks to a few months] intensive experience for foreigners interested in learning both the Indonesian language and culture in a village in South and West Sulawesi. Within this program, Alekawa facilitates Indonesian language classes and provides foreign students the opportunity to stay with Indonesian families in the village. The cost of the ICIP is adjusted based on the program's location and duration.
  2. Dance Class In this class, learners are taught traditional dances from South Sulawesi, accompanied by explanations of the dances being learned. Students will also have the opportunity to dance wearing traditional attire from South Sulawesi, followed by a photo session. The dance classes are pakarena, pa’duppa, patennung, pajoge, pakkuru sumange, ganrang bulo, etc.
  3.  Cooking Class Students will be guided in preparing traditional dishes from South Sulawesi, such as pisang epe, coto, konro, pisang ijo, mi titi, pallu basa, etc. Additionally, students will learn about the cultural aspects of dining and hosting guests, Indonesian and South Sulawesi style. Each type of food will be covered in a single session with a cost of Rp 300,000, excluding food ingredients. The cost of food ingredients will be adjusted based on market prices at the time of the class.
  4. Cultural Excursions (1-2 times a year) We offer cultural excursions to unique regions in Indonesia. Transportation, accommodation, and engaging itineraries will be provided for each trip. Each journey presents opportunities to savor local cuisine and purchase unique souvenirs. The cost of participating in this program varies for each implementation, depending on the location and duration of the activities.
